Nigeria Volleyball President, Nimrod reaffirms commitment to boosting international opportunities

The President of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF), Engr. Musa Nimrod, has reaffirmed his commitment to nurturing volleyball talent and sponsoring players for international competitions.
Speaking at an award ceremony organized in his honor by the Kaduna State Volleyball Association (KADSVA) at the Media Center, Ahmadu Bello Stadium (ABS), Kaduna, Nimrod vowed to sustain his scholarship program for players and support the sport’s growth nationwide.
The event, which attracted dignitaries from across the country, celebrated Engr. Nimrod’s exceptional contributions to grassroots sports development.
Unveiling his scorecard as merit for the award of excellence, the Chairman of the Committee in Honor of Engr. Musa Nimrod, Lt. Col. J.G. Usman, described him as a leader whose passion and dedication to volleyball have elevated the sport in Nigeria.
Usman said described Nimrod as a man whose soul, spirit and body is nothing but volleyball, stressing that with his stewardship, Kaduna state can be trusted with any national and international positions.
“Engr. Nimrod is a visionary leader whose soul, spirit, and body are devoted to volleyball. Under his stewardship, the Nigeria Volleyball Federation has achieved unprecedented success, with national teams excelling in various international competitions.”
Engr. Nimrod, overwhelmed with gratitude, emphasized the importance of integrity in sports and pledged to continue his efforts to promote volleyball. “I am truly humbled by this honor,” he said. “My commitment to supporting athletes and fostering the growth of volleyball remains steadfast. Integrity is key, and I urge all stakeholders to uphold it as we work to elevate the sport further.”
The award ceremony highlighted his ongoing scholarship initiative, which has enabled many athletes to pursue academic and professional growth. Nimrod’s leadership has been pivotal in propelling volleyball into the national spotlight, fostering opportunities for young players to showcase their talents on global stages.
Prominent attendees included the President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Isaiah Kemje Benjamin, Kaduna State Commissioner of Sports Development, Professor Ben Gugong, and Director of Sports Kaduna State, Mrs. Mary Vayin, among others. Coaches, referees, and athletes also gathered to celebrate the remarkable achievements of a man widely regarded as the backbone of volleyball in Nigeria.
