“Nigeria must not die” – Rev Godswill Keenam

“Nigeria must not die”, these were the exact words of Rev Godswill Keenam, the Presiding Minister of Calvary Global Prayer & Healing Center and Convener of Nigeria International Day of Prayer slated for 30/9/2023 at the National Christian Centre,Abuja.
Speaking exclusively to Nigerian NewsDirect Newspaper in Port Harcourt,the Reverend Gentleman said amidst the daunting challenges facing the country,God spoke to him to intercede,so that Nigeria will not die.
The man of God said the situation in the country has gone so bad,that a lot of people want to leave to other nations,but God clearly told him prophetically to intervene through prayers, hence the forthcoming national prayer programme,titled, ‘Nigeria Must Not Die’.
Rev Keenam said the choice of Abuja for the 3rd edition of the global day of prayer is because of its vantage position as the Federal Capital Territory (FCT),that made it the seat of power an symbol of Nigerian unity.
This,he said made anything organized in Abuja unique.
The Reverend said though many people are itching to leave the country,but God spoke to him to restore hope to Nigerians on the need to renew their confidence that Nigeria has come to stay.
He said his encounter with God produced the theme of the conference, which is ‘Nigeria Must Not Die’.
“God said in 2 Chronicles that if my people should do four things and that is, humble themselves,which,we have been doing,call me by my name, which we have also been doing,but there is one thing,which is turning away from our wicked ways. God said,then I will hear them and when God comes down,he will heal the land,”Keenam said.
According to him, “the essence of the one-day global prayer is to persuade God to come down and hear us. It does not matter the religion you belong to,in fact I have met some Muslims in Abuja who said they are interested in the programme. So everybody come out that day and cry to the Lord for mercy and I am confident that he will hear,so that Nigeria will not die,”the man of God said.
Asked who the target audience is for the programme,Rev Godswill Keenam said the Nigerian citizens are our target audience, irrespective of one’s religion.
“It’s not about church or denomination,but everybody coming together to pray. It doesn’t matter whether you’re a Muslim, Christian or any other religion,but coming together to pray,” Rev Keenam explained.
Commenting on their source of funding,the clergyman said for now they are banking on their internal meagre contributions,but are still optimistic that God will touch some public spirited individuals to come and support their cause.
On the guest speakers expected at the event,the Chief Host said the list is endless,but of note are,Rev Jerry Adamu,Rev John Karma and Rev (Dr) Ibekwe . Others he said are, Bishop Farley,Rev Johnson Kalu and Pastor Roy,among several others.
