Niger Gov, Bago creates eight new ministries, reposts 40 permanent secretaries

Niger State Governor, Muhammed Bago has created eight new ministries and approved the posting of 40 permanent secretaries as part of the transformation agenda of the administration.

This is contained in a statement from the office of the state’s Head of Service, HOS, Abubakar Yahaya Salisu, dated 17th July 2023.

The governor also approved the appointment of five new permanent secretaries.

The new ministries include the Ministry of Secondary and Tertiary Health, the Communication Technology and Digital Economy Ministry, the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education and the Ministry of Homeland Security.

Others are the Ministry of Power & Renewable Energy, Ministry of Rural Development, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs & Disaster Management and Ministry of Housing & Urban Renewal.

The newly appointed permanent secretaries are Umar Zukogi posted to the Ministry of Housing and Rural Development, Aishatu Yelwa Nuhu – Information and Strategy, Dr Matthew Ahmed, Livestock and Fishery, Mairo Mann, Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management while former Commissioner of Health, Dr Mohammed Makusidi returned to civil service as Permanent Secretary, Special Duties in the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
