Niger Delta Minister battles alleged suspension

The leadership of the  ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Ndiya Ward, Nsit Ubium Local Government, Akwa Ibom State has dismissed the alleged suspension of the Niger Delta commission, Hon. Obong Umana Okon Umana from the party.

In a statement recently signed by the duo of the Chairman and Secretary of the ward, Hon. Udeme Sunday Asuquo and  Marió Samuel Noah respectively; they urged the general public to disregard the information as it is nothing but a blatant lie and misleading.

The letter further stated that the Minister has always been a loyal and a great leader of the party in his Ward and thereby urged members of the party to remain committed to his leadership.

The statement read:“Our attention has been drawn to a letter purportedly written by some unscrupulous persons and circulating in social media about the suspension of the Hon. Minister of the Niger Affairs in the person of Obong Umana Okon Umana.

“Indeed, we would not have wasted time to respond to this unholy lie peddled by some elements who seek to attract attentions, but to set the record straight, the Hon. Minister, Obong Umana Okon Umana has never been disloyal to his party. He is a true party man and a great Leader of our party in Ndiya Ward.

“Nsit Ubuim Local Government Area and a strong supporter of Unified Party in our Local Government and the state at large.

“To this end, we state with an unequivocal authority that the Hon. Minister was never and has never been suspended in his ward or anywhere else. The general public and members of our great party should disregard the information as it is a blatant lie and misleading.

“Finally, we urge members of the party to remain focused and committed to the Leadership of the Hon. Minister, Obong Umana Okon Umana.”
