NIESV partners Topfaith university on development

The Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV) and Topfaith University, Mkpatak, in Akwa Ibom State have sealed a symbiotic agreement for the over all development of the institution.

The partnership was agreed to when the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, ESV (Pastor) Obot Akpan led members to Topfaith University management in Mkpatak, Essien Udim Local Government Area on a courtesy visit on Thursday.

The chairman, in his remarks said the university would benefit immensely from the limitless opportunities the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers could provide to enhance growth and development of the university.

He enumerated some of the roles the body can play to make the society/environment a better place to include; maintenance of public infrastructure/assets, land economists for infrastructure development schemes, custodian of land and landed properties, professional property consultation/expertise and also can be educators/instructors to students undergraduates, aspiring to eke a living in the profession.

Pst. Akpan, while commending the vision and dynamism of the chairman, Board of Trustees (BoT) of the University, Dr. Emmanuel Abraham for the numerous infrastructural projects and activities within Topfaith Schools affirmed the institution’s belief, vision and mission statement of deligence and excellence adding that, the visit was to register their commitment to the school leadership on these successes and, to also interact to identify areas the body can contribute professionally towards the growth and continuous development of Topfaith University.

He appealed to the institution’s management to establish the Department of Estate Surveying and Valuation under School of Environmental Engineering/Studies to train student Estate Surveyors/Valuers with the support of its members.

Others are creation of  Physical Planning Unit/engagement of it’s members for planning, management and maintenance of facilities/infrastructure in the school as well as engage members for Real Estate consultancy needs of the university.

Chairman (BoT), Dr. Emmanuel Abraham in his responses expressed appreciation to the Chairman and members of the organisation saying that the advice they proferred has given him strong reason to partner with the organisation.

While appreciating the members for coming to terms with the university in students’ re-orientation, real estate investment assured that, as the institution is growing, NIESV can begin to tap into its housing development through, “Build, Operate and Transfer” BoT.

He called on the members of the organisation to also help the school in the mentoring of its students at the secondary school level to develop those who may have interest in the profession.
