The National Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers have confirmed the installation of Engr Olayiwola Oyelade as the 4th Chairman of the association.
The Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (NIEEE) consists of engineering personnel in the fields of Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Control, Instrumentation, Automation, Aviation, Process, Information and Communication Technology (lCT), Computer, Broadcast, Satellite and allied professions/disciplines.
Oyelade was the head of an 81 members Ministerial task force Constituted from the Headquarters, Ibadan, Minna, Kaduna, and llorin District of NEPA) that designed, constructed and commissioned the 41km length Bida – Wushishi 33kV line, Wushishi 1 X 2.5MVA, 3 11 injection Substation, Wushishi – Zungeru 11kV line, Wushishi 110.415kV Township ribution Netuork and Zungeru 11/0.415kV Township Distribution Network in two months.
Also, Engr Oyelade Supervises construction of networks financed by the the Federal Ministry of Power He was for many vears invoked in take-over of networks sponsored and completed by States, Local Government and Communities.
The new excos which includes Engr Olayiwola Oyelade as Chairman, Engr Ogunpaimo Babatunde as deputy chairman, Engr Ayorinde Omorinde as General Secretary, Engr Abdullahi Aremu as Treasurer, Engr Oluseye Ajibade as Financial Secretary, Engr Mary Ayeni as vice chairman(Telecom/Computer) and Engr Modinat Oduola as vice chairman (power)
The association also confirmed the following as patron/fellow; Engr Prof Olaosebikan Fakuloju, Engr Rev E. O. J Ojekunle, Engr. Sam Adeleke and Engr Olufemi Morakinyo.
In his address, the new chairman, Engr Olayiwola Oyelade said it is obvious that life challenges are many and engineers proffer solutions to most of them.
“Electrical and Electronic Engineers tried to emulate the divine provision of light, aid movement through sensors, the automation of physical efforts, bringing efficiency close to 100%. The engineers brought about the evolution of production line, computer solutions in all areas of life, etc.”
“Mechanical, Automobile and Civil Engineers in their efforts have made and are still making transportation a delight. Building Engineers make our habitations heaven on Earth. Petroleum Engineers bring out the resources for powering our domestic and industrial machines. If I am to count the role of Engineers in the society, it will take eternity.”
“In other words, the World and the entire planets cannot do without the Engineers. Engineers remain the bedrock of any development, directly or indirectly.”
The Outgoing Chairman, Engr Silvanus Omajuwa Ajuyah said the new tenure marks the beginning of another glorious atmosphere in the institute and urged the incoming Excos to imbibe unity of purpose.
“I will urge the incoming EXCOs to imbibe unity of purpose, in order to multiply their efforts and to work as a team with passion and commitment to serve and to continue with the good work we were able achieve and to do something better so as to leave fond and good memories in the hearts of NIEEE Ibadan Chapter members and by extension the Nigerian Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers.”
The event also witnessed the induction of Engr Prince Adeyemi Oyedepo. Oyedepo who is a registered Engineer with the council for the Regulations of Engineering in Nigeria.
