NGX hits new landmark as ASI crosses 100,000 points

The Nigeria exchange continued its impressive run on Wednesday as the All Share Index (ASI) crossed the 100,000 mark.

The ASI advanced by 3.0 percent, closing at 101,571.11 basis points, compared to the previous day’s gain of 2.97 percent, which closed at 98,616.97 basis points.

Similarly, the market cap now hit N55.8 trillion as it gained N1.62trn  following trading from Dangote Cement, BUA Cement, Transcorp and BUA Foods.

The total volume traded however declined by 34.65 percent to close at N488.49 million, valued at N8.04 billion and traded in 12,080 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume and value, with N95.11 million and N1.59 billion units traded.

The Gote Index advanced by 6.30 percent to close at 355.54, while the Toni index advanced by 0.97 percent to close at 673.90 basis points.

At the close of trading, the market recorded 35 gainers, 30 losers, and 54 unchanged. WAPIC topped the gainer’s list, while NEM topped the list of losers.
