NGX All-Share Index sheds 0.10%

Today, the domestic equities shed some of the previous gains as the benchmark All-Share Index closed 0.10 per cent weaker at 44,239.49 points. Losses in ZENITHBANK (-0.25%) and FBNH (-1.00%) were the main drivers of the market performance. Nonetheless, the market remains on track for a weekly gain.

As a result, the year-to-date (YTD) return fell to 3.57 per cent, with the market capitalisation down by N24.12 billion to close at N24.10 trillion.

Analysis of today’s market activities showed trade turnover settled higher relative to the previous session, with the value of transactions up by 24.86 per cent.

A total of 215.15 million shares valued at N1.91 billion were exchanged in 3,389 deals. ACCESSCORP (+0.63%) led the volume and value charts with 112.33 million units traded in deals worth N892.56 million

Market breadth closed negative at a 2-to-1 ratio with declining issues outnumbering advancing ones.

UNILEVER (-8.29%) topped fifteen (15) others on the laggard’s table, while UPDCREIT (+9.09%) led seven (7) others on the leader’s log.

At the close of trade on Thursday, Updcreit came as the highest price gainer with 9.09 per cent to close at N3.00 per share; Followed by Transexpr went up by 8.82 per cent to close at N0.74 per share.

Champion breweries which recorded as the last third gainer appreciated by 7.81 per cent to close at N3.45 per share.

Japaulgold rose significantly by 7.69 per cent to close at N0.28 per share and Cutix plc which recorded as the last fifth gainer grew by 4.88 per to close at N2.15 per cent.

However, Prestige Assurance led the laggards table yesterday with 9.80 per cent to close at N0.46 per share, followed by Caverton Offshore which dipped by 9.38 per cent to close at N0.87 per share, while Sunu Assurance which recorded as the last third loser lost 8.57 per cent to close at N0.32 per share

Unilever went down by 8.29 per cent to close at N9.95 per share and Multiverse and Mining Evaporation which recorded as the last fifth loser depreciated by 8.23 per cent to close at N4.24 per share

Transaction in the shares of Accesscorp topped the activities chart with 112.333 million share worth N892.561 million, followed by Transcorp plc which transacted 16.068 million shares valued at N16.713 million, While Sterling Bank traded 12.256 million shares valued at N16.640 million.

Fidelity Bank accounted 9.290 million share valued at N38.190 million.

Zenith Bank transacted 7.190 million shares worth N142.829 million.
