By Ismail Azeez, Osogbo

The new Commissioner of Police, Osun State Police Command, CP Faleye Sunday, has declared that the state is no longer a going area for criminals, vowing that if they have been crossing into the state, they will meet their waterloo.

Olayele said that under his watch as the CP, no where in the state will be conducive for criminals to operate.

The Commissioner of Police declared this at his first address as the CP in the state on Monday, at the Command’s Headquarters Osogbo, Osun State capital.

He assured the law abiding citizens of a safety atmosphere all the time, as the Command, he said, will do everything possible within the ambit of the law to protect the lives and properties of residents of the state.

He, however, charged the residents of the state to join hands with the Police and other law enforcement agencies to protect their communities from criminal minded persons.

According to Olayele, “the command will take the battle to the kidnappers, cultists, drug dealers, traffickers and indeed to their sponsors, procurers, counselors and accessories in and outside the State.

“I came fully prepared to serve the good people of Osun State, to ensure a secured state which will be envy for other states to emulate. This I planned to achieve through hard work, discipline and incorruptible police force and in partnership with other sister security agencies, the people of the state and in fidelity with the right operational procedures.

“I shall lead by example and mobilise the entire officers and men of the Command to achieve effective crime control, limit civil disorder and protect life and property, which are the basic duties of the Police under Section 4 of the Police Act. I pledge my personal integrity and honour to provide level playing ground for all and sundry and hold out myself and the entire Command to public account.

“I pledge the readiness of the entire  workforce of the Command to eschew corruption and corrupt practices and work towards making Osun State a better place to live and invest in, in line with the policy agenda of IGP for the entire country, and in particular the vision of Osun State.

“We are going to roll out all in our arsenal to wage war against all form of crime and criminality. Consequently, I am using this opportunity to declare Osun State a no go area for criminals. If you reside here, relocate, if you have been crossing into the state, desist. Else, you will meet your waterloo.

“My Policemen will be made more visible in the state through adequate protection of key and vulnerable points, intensive patrols of neighbourhoods, business districts, and roads; constant surveillance and regular raids of black-spots and criminal hideouts,” the new CP said
