The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has sought an audience with the state government of Jigawa State.

The CAN Chairman in the State stated this while speaking with journalists.

He explained that their major challenges as new executive of the association is lack of access to the Jigawa State Government for them to introduce themselves as new executive of CAN.

The chairman who is the Reverend Father in the  association, Mr Morris kole Hassan said officially he wrote letters five times seeking audience with Jigawa State Governor but yet no response from them.

Mr Morris lamented that all channels to see the Governor were eventually blocked, even to introduce their new exco, and no response on their letter to the Governor.

The CAN Chairman also acknowledged the receipt of palliatives donated by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu through the Jigawa State government.

Morris added that 594 bags of 25 kg  of rice which they received from the Jigawa State government is equally distributed among five blocks of Christian Association based in Jigawa State in which the state has over 3000 members in Jigawa State

He also charged the executive in the blocks to apply fairness justice equity while distributing to avoid rancore among the members during and after distribution.

He also thanked the Federal and Jigawa State government for the support given to them appealing for more assistance.

Also, in her remarks, the Secretary of the Association of Christian Women, Madam Deborah Maina Maxsing assured that orphans, women and widows will receive special treatment during  distribution of the palliatives.
