New Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA secretariat will enhance efficient service delivery — Sanwo-Olu

Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu  on Wednesday inaugurated the  Igbogbo-Baiyeku Local Council Development Area  newly-built secretariat in Ikorodu Local Government Area.

Sanwo-Olu in his address at the inauguration said that the secretariat would boost the productivity of staff, making them more dedicated to their duties, and lead to improved service delivery.

He commended the Council Chairman, Mr Olusesan Daini, for the courage to initiate and implement the project.

According to him, the completion of the project is  a proof that with the right attitude to governance and a sense of purpose, lives of people at the grassroots level will be impacted, thereby, giving them a sense of belonging.

“The Lagos State Government will continue to play its part in delivering the dividends of democracy to the people at the grassroots.

“We enjoy a harmonious working relationship with our council chairmen; and as we strengthen our partnership, we will ensure the completion of all ongoing infrastructure.

“The Olusesan Daini-led administration of Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA has shown a great deal of commitment in completing this project.

“This makes me glad; it takes committed people to institutionalise good governance in our society,” he said.

The governor said that the completion of the secretariat was made possible by the taxpayers.

“The resources for the completion of this edifice came from our common wealth.

“It is only proper that you take ownership of this project and see it as a symbol of your history, culture, hope and aspiration for sustainable growth and development,” he said.

Earlier, the Chairman of  Igbogbo-Baiyeku LCDA, Mr Olusesan Daini, said that on assumption of office in 2017, the first request by members of staff was a befitting and conducive office to drive efficient service delivery.

Daini said that the administrative complex which took two years to build consists:  26-room offices, a conference room, a multipurpose hall, and a marriage registry.

He said that beyond the new secretariat, his administration had been able to fulfil more of its electoral promises in education, health, capacity development, socio-economic development of the LCDA in the last three years.

According to him, the administration will continue to intensity efforts to actualise its cardinal goals of infrastructure development, improved healthcare system, youth/women empowerment and human capacity development.

He appealed to the governor to intervene in the area of upgrading the Igbogbo Stadium,  the  construction of roads in the LCDA and mini-general hospitals.
