NECO shifts 2024 entrance exams for unity colleges over low enrolment

As a result of low candidate turnout, NECO has postponed the 2024 National Common Entrance Examination for Federal Unity Colleges and the Entrance Examination for the Federal Government Academy in Suleja.

The Acting Director of Information and Digital Communication at NECO, Azeez Sani, made the announcement on Tuesday in Abuja.

Originally slated for April 20, the National Common Entrance Examination will now be held on June 1, 2024.

Similarly, the Entrance Examination for Gifted and Talented Children into the Federal Government Academy, initially to hold on May 4 has been rescheduled to May 25, 2024.

The decision to reschedule both examinations was attributed to a significant lack of candidates. NECO emphasised the importance of stakeholders, including candidates, parents, guardians, and schools, noting the necessity for awareness regarding the new examination dates.

Additionally, registration for candidates will remain open until the revised examination dates to accommodate potential late entries.
