Necessary items to have in your bag

…to keep you looking stylish, sharp and safe on a regular

By Chidinma Promise

Hello Fashionable! Welcome to a new weekend. In this week’s article we are going to be listing important items that you should have in your bag as you go about your daily dealings. Of course, many of the items we carry about with us are peculiar to our personality type but there are very common necessities that every fashionable individual should not be caught without; male or female.

Two very important items that the current global health status has pushed into our regular necessity are: Nose masks and hand sanitizers. Although the year 2021 has brought about a global ease in the fear of the COVID-19 pandemic which in turn causes many average Nigerians to walk on the streets of Lagos without a mask as a result of frequent movement and need for convenience, we can keep ourselves in check by having a nose mask in our frequently used bags. This way even on days when we ‘forget’ to wear our nose mask, whenever you reach into your bag to get something, you make contact with the nose mask and subconsciously remember the significance of wearing your nose mask, most especially when you’re caught in a crowd (gathering of 15 or more people without the observance of social distance) The same applies to your hand sanitizers.

Third item you must have in your bag or suitcase is a handkerchief, tissue or wipes. The importance of these items cannot be overemphasized most especially for a work or business routine individual. Going through the hassle of Lagos will get you sticky, sweaty and looking drab, at some point. The best way to control this is by dabbing your face dry with a handkerchief and reapplying a bit of powder (this can also apply to the men). In other cases, a tissue is of high importance when you’re caught in a public environment in which you have to use a public toilet that does not make provision for tissue. In some cases, your hand just came in contact with something dusty, dirty or you just had a juicy meal but there no nearby place of convenience from which you can get water to wash your hands, having a tissue or wipes in your reach is going to be of great use to you.

The fourth item you must always have in your bag is a good power bank! You don’t want to be caught disappointed by your phone battery’s sudden disappointment (and of course your phone charger or chord should be attached to this). Number five on the list is a lip gloss or balm for days when the frustration of work or daily life’s dealings reflects on your lips by making it chapped (wouldn’t be wise of you to be caught at a presentation, meeting or business transaction licking your lips like a…).

The last few items you should never leave your house without are:

Mini perfume bottle or oil

Hand cream

Hair brush/comb

Mini snack

A book/sheet and a pen

A bottle of water (To keep you hydrated, sane and minding your business till the day’s craze is over)

You’re Welcome.
