NDPC launches data privacy training program for NIPOST staff

The Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC), headed by Dr. Vincent Olatunji, recently visited the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) to kickstart a capacity-building program on data privacy and protection for NIPOST staff.

Speaking at the event, NDPC team Engineer Tola Odeyemi, Post Master-General of the Federation and CEO of NIPOST, expressed gratitude to Dr. Olatunji for leading his team personally.

She emphasized that NIPOST’s access to citizens’ personal information makes this training essential, as it will equip the organization to handle data responsibly in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (2023).

Dr. Olatunji commended NIPOST’s dedication to data compliance, highlighting the organization’s proactive steps following NDPC recommendations.

He noted that this training further strengthens the partnership between the NDPC and NIPOST, focused on safeguarding the privacy of Nigerians.

Additionally, Dr. Olatunji introduced NDPC’s new certification program for Data Protection Officers, encouraging NIPOST staff to participate in this valuable opportunity within the growing field of data protection.
