By Bassey Williams, Yenagoa

Ahead of Saturday governorship elections in Bayelsa state, the coordinator of the Niger Delta Frontiers(NDF) and a Youth Leader, Chief Eminent Angadia has warned youths in the state against electoral violence stating that election is a game of interest but that they should not allow their interest to bring shame, sorrow and tears to their families and loved ones.

Chief Angadia while speaking with journalists at the signing of peace accord by the political parties and the governorship candidates at Lady Same event centre in Yenagoa urges them to abide by the agreement signed and advised the political leaders to engage on issue based campaigns instead of calumny as their negative utterances may incite their followers to take to violence.

Angadia equally advised the police and other security agencies to remain apolitical by not intimidating the electorates so that they can go out and vote any candidates of their choices rather than being disenfranchised for fear of heavy security presence.

The Youth Leader asked the Independent National Electoral Commissione (INEC) to be an unbiased umpire in the election by transmitting the results electronically from the polling units to collation centres to avoid the results being tempered with if done manually.

Chief Eminent raised concern cover those who are entrusted with the the pipie line surveillance contract as he claims they are dancing to the tunes of their pay masters by supporting a particular political party instead of being non- partisan.

He said the contest is between Ijaw brothers and that whoever wins is an Ijaw son.

He, however, advised whoever wins to be magnanimous in victory by running an all-inclusive government as exemplified by the President, Bola Ahmed Tinibu.
