NDDC to commission more projects to honour Tinubu’s second anniversary
The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr Samuel Ogbuku, has announced that the Commission will inaugurate several new projects in the Niger Delta to mark President Bola Tinubu’s second year in office.
Speaking during the NDDC Quarterly Management Meeting at the Commission’s headquarters, Dr Ogbuku urged staff to prepare for new challenges as the Commission focuses on delivering people-centric projects.
He expressed pride in the agency’s recent achievements, particularly in project implementation, and noted that a number of projects are planned to commemorate President Tinubu’s second anniversary.
“The NDDC has made considerable strides, both locally and internationally, and we’ve received numerous commendations, including from President Bola Tinubu,” Dr Ogbuku said, highlighting the Commission’s successes in road construction and solar streetlight installations under the “Light Up the Niger Delta” initiative.
As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, the NDDC has inaugurated several developmental projects across Delta, Rivers, Abia, Imo, and Bayelsa states. Ogbuku confirmed that additional projects would be commissioned this month to reinforce the Commission’s ongoing commitment to regional development.
He called on the staff to remain committed to the Commission’s mission, stressing that their contributions are crucial to its continued growth and impact.
Mr Patrick Ekade, Director of Administration and Human Resources at NDDC, credited regular staff engagements for fostering good relations between management and employees. He commended staff for their professionalism and urged them to continue supporting the management’s initiatives. He also acknowledged the collaboration between the Commission and the staff union.
During the meeting, a raffle draw was held, with two staff members winning prizes such as a three-bedroom house, a brand-new car, and household equipment.
Earlier, Dr Ogbuku met with the newly elected executives of the NDDC Staff Union, urging them to prioritise the region’s development over personal interests.
