NDDC partmers Providus Bank, commissions branch in headquarters

The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has partnered with Providus Bank as part of efforts o collaborate with financial institutions as part of its efforts to accelerate economic growth and development in the Niger Delta region.

Speaking during the commissioning of a Providus Bank branch at the NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, the NDDC Managing Director, Dr Samuel Ogbuku, said the Commission was well disposed to partner with commercial banks to aid development.

He stated, “ Providus Bank has proved that it is ready to provide excellent banking services to our staff and stakeholders. Its capacity gives us confidence that it will deliver exceptional services.

“Furthermore, the bank’s digital services are top-of-the-range and align with our transformative processes. We believe our staff deserve the best in banking services.”

Ogbuku pledged support for the bank’s efforts to provide top-notch services to NDDC staff, noting: “We expect the bank to support our staff and contractors. This is important because we want Niger Deltans to be active participants in the development of the region. When the bank supports our contractors in executing projects, they will contribute to the region’s development.”

The NDDC boss stressed the importance of working with development partners to harness the economic potential in the Niger Delta and bring about economic growth.

Speaking earlier, the Deputy Managing Director of Providus Bank, Mr. Kingsley Aigbokhaevbo, commended the NDDC for allowing the bank to provide banking services to the Commission’s staff. He described Providus Bank as one of the country’s best Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) banks, with the added advantage of leveraging technology.  

Aigbokhaevbo said the bank was poised to support the growth of small and medium enterprises in the Niger Delta region, noting that the SMEs were drivers of economic growth and development in any economy.
