The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has named Dr. Obinna Ezeobi as the Acting General Manager of its Corporate Communications Division, marking a strategic move to deepen the Board’s legacy in effective communication and stakeholder engagement.

The appointment, announced on Wednesday, follows the redeployment of the former GM, Esueme Kikile. Dr. Ezeobi, a seasoned communications professional with a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Port Harcourt, brings over two decades of experience in media, public relations, and strategic oil and gas communications to the role.

Reacting to the development, Adeola Yusuf, Team Lead at Platforms Africa, hailed the appointment as a perfect fit: “With Dr. Ezeobi’s blend of experience and strategic insight, we expect NCDMB’s communications to scale new heights. He is a round peg in a round hole.”

Ezeobi joined NCDMB at its inception in 2010 and has since played a pivotal role in shaping the agency’s public image.

His communication strategies have been instrumental in major milestones, including the commissioning of the Nigerian Content Tower by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2020, the inauguration of four Governing Councils, and the launch of the Nigerian Content Intervention Fund.

Before joining NCDMB, he was an accomplished journalist with PUNCH and New Age Newspapers, where he covered beats including energy, the economy, and sports, and reported major international events like OPEC meetings and the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

In April 2025, Dr. Ezeobi published his first book, Nigeria’s Local Content: A Journey of Strategic Communication and Economic Transformation, which garnered endorsements from key figures in the energy and communications sectors.

His appointment signals a renewed push by NCDMB to sustain its leadership in content development through innovative, impactful communication strategies.
