COVID-19 testing, as NCDC, Kano State, records six COVID-19 related deaths, 357 new cases recorded across 11 states, FCT.
The Federal Capital Territory and 11 other states reported 357 new cases of COVID-19 and six (6) related deaths on Tuesday, according to figures released on Wednesday by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.
The NCDC disclosed this on its official website on Wednesday.
According to the report, 357 new cases were recorded from the FCT and 11 other states.
Rivers recorded the highest numbers for new infections with 170 new cases, Ondo – 38, Gombe – 34, Ogun – 20, Ekiti – 20, FCT – 18, Anambra – 16, Oyo – 13, Kwara – 10 with Imo, Bayelsa, and Edo States reporting 6 cases from each state. Lagos state recorded no case.
The agency said the 357 new COVID-19 infections have brought the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country to 183,444.
However, 167,459 COVID-19 patients have recovered and have been discharged in the country, the agency said. With six deaths reported, the death toll from the virus has risen to 2,229, NCDC said.
It added that a multi-sectoral national Emergency Operations Centre, activated at Level 2, had continued to coordinate the national response activities.
