NASD OTC Securities Exchange drops by 1.2%

The NASD OTC Securities Exchange Index closed last week with a negative return on NSI. The NSI return decreased by 1.24% to close the week at 768.42 basis points against 778.03 basis points on prior week’s trading.
The trading last week saw NASD Investors lose N6.83 Billion in value. NASD OTC Market capitalization closed at N546.2 Billion compared to N553.03 Billion on Friday, May 7, 2021, resulting from a negative movement in prices.
There was a 2.71per cent decrease in the total value traded during the week, as week 19 saw NASD Investors trade a total of N893,973,669 in value compared to N918,893,029 in the previous week. Total trade activity for the year is valued at N6,608,355,056.
Total volume traded during the week was 124,897,362 units compared to 34,751,553 units in the previous week leading to a 259.40 per cent increase in trade volume compared to week 18. Total volume traded for the year is 350,589,682 units.
NASD OTC Securities Exchange Market closed on a positive note YTD as the market recorded an increase in performance. NASD Security Index Year to date returns increased by 3.61 per cent. Total volume traded Year-to-Date stands at 350,589,682 units in 1474 deals and total Value traded is N6,608,355,056.
Top Traded Securities by Volume showed that the week closed with SWAP Technologies and Telecomms PLC ranking top among the five most traded securities by volume and Afriland Properties PLC as the fifth most traded stock by volume traded in the week.
The week closed with Nigerian Exchange Group Plc ranking top among the five most traded securities by value and Central Securities and Clearing System PLC stood as the fifth most traded Security by value for the week.
Advancers for the Week showed that NIPCO Plc, which currently holds a market capitalization of N13.13 billion closed the week at N70.00 representing a 0.72 percent increase from the previous close of N69.50.
In addition, the decliners for the Week indicated that Nigerian Exchange Group plc, which currently holds a Market Capitalization of N42.27 Billion closed the week at N22.25 representing a 15.97 percent decrease from the previous close of N26.48.
FrieslandCampina Wamco Plc, which currently holds a Market Capitalization of N126.92 Billion closed the week at N130.00 representing a 2.98 percent decrease from the previous close of N134.00.
Central Securities and Clearing System PLC, which currently holds a Market Capitalization of N88.25 Billion closed the week at N17.65 representing a 2.54 percent increase from the previous close of N18.11.
