NASC decries alleged indiscriminate deployment of staff
The National Assembly Service Commission (NASC) has decried the deployment of staff in and out of legislative service by State Governments.
Executive Chairman of the Commission, Ahmed Amshi, made this known when the newly reconstituted board of the Kaduna State Assembly Service Commission visited NASC on a study tour on Wednesday in Abuja.
Amshi frowned at the tendency of posting staff to and out of the legislative service by some state governments, saying this could be detrimental to the independence and growth of the legislative service in Nigeria.
He commended Gov. Nasiru El-Rufai for signing into law, a bill for legislative autonomy and also for reconstituting the Kaduna State Assembly Service Commission shortly after the expiration of the tenure of the immediate past commission.
Earlier, Chairman of the Kaduna commission, Dr Ishaya Habu, who led the delegation, said that the delegation had come to NASC to understudy its workings and procedures.
This, Habu said was with the intention to adopt them for the smooth take-off of the Kaduna State Assembly Service Commission.
