Nasarawa lawmakers seek partnership with NSCDC on peace, youth engagement Some members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly have sought for partnership with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in order to engage youths to promote unity and peace in the state.

The lawmakers, led by Mr Musa Gude (SDP – Ukye/Karshi) made the call on Wednesday when they visited the Commandant General, NSCDC, Dr Muhammed Audi, in his office in Abuja.

The lawmakers, who visited the NSCDC boss are Hudu Hudu (APC/Awe North), Mr Emmanuel Manding (APC/Wamba), and Ovey John (PDP – Keffi East), among others.

Gude, who is the Deputy Minority Whip of the House, said that the visit was to seek for effective synergy with NSCDC on youth engagement.

He said that robust partnership with the NSCDC would not only promote peace but would bring speedy development to their constituencies and the state at large.

“We are here to appreciate you for the good work that you are doing for Nigerians in the area of youth engagement, unity and peace.

“The importance of NSCDC in promoting peace and unity could not be overemphasised.

“Also is to seek for your partnership and support in the areas of youth engagement, unity and peace in our various constituencies and the state at large,’’ he said.

Gude pledged their readiness to partner other security agencies in curtailing criminal activities as well as to promote peace in their constituencies in the state. He restated the 7th Assembly’s commitment to key into good policies and programmes that would have direct bearing on the lives of the people in the state.

The deputy minority whip further assured of quality and sound representation at the state legislature.

The lawmaker called on the people of their constituencies and the state to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and co-exist peacefully for development to thrive.

Responding, the commandant general of NSCDC appreciated the lawmakers for the visit and assured of his readiness to collaborate with them to promote unity and peace in the state, being an indigene.
