Nasarawa Assembly committee summons Governor Sule’s aide over alleged palliative diversion

The Nasarawa State House of Assembly committee investigating the alleged diversion of palliatives has summoned Governor Abdullahi Sule’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Nawani Aboki, and Mr. Bello Akoza, the Overseer of Ekye Development Area.

Mr Abel Bala, the Chairman of the Committee and Deputy Speaker of the House, issued the summons on Monday as some council Chairmen appeared for questioning in Lafia.

Bala instructed that Aboki and Akoza should present themselves before the committee on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m.

They were invited to clarify their involvement in the distribution of palliative designed to alleviate the impacts of the fuel subsidy removal within the area.

The Chairman said that the committee is committed to conducting a thorough investigation, so the summon is needed.

He warned that anyone found complicit in diverting palliatives would face the consequences, stating that the committee is determined to hold all accountable.
