NAPTIP DG assures the media of a robust relationship
The Director General of the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Mrs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim, has assured that the agency would partner with the media in the course of implementing its mandate.
The NAPTIP boss gave this assurance on Saturday, in Abuja, when a team of the media that cover the agency, led by Enemaku Ojochegbe, of African Independent Television, paid her a visit.
The purpose of the visit was to identify with the Director General, who was appointed on Dec. 1, 2020 by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The Director General said that the media was a capable ally in the agency’s fight against human trafficking, hence the need to have a robust relationship to enable the agency to excel.
She said that the media must find a way of catching up with the agency in the discharge of their duties, adding that, the course of fighting human trafficking was a cause for all.
“We are going to put in our best to get a better result, we will soon be unveiling our preventive measures to human trafficking to the media, I am glad we are partners in progress, we will jointly work together.
“I appeal to you that in your line of duty, you must think of Nigeria first, we need to reposition the agency, we need to work very smartly, work with pace and with the urgency it required.
“We cannot do it alone without our friends in the media; we need your support to project the activities of the agency”, she added.
