NAFDAC lauds NDE over job creation

Barth Ndubuwah,Port HarcourtThe National Agency For Food,Drugs Administration And Control (NAFDAC) has said the collaborative effort of the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) with other agencies of Government in the country to create jobs for the teeming unemployed youths in the society is a bold step for the actualization of President Muhammadu Buhari-led government’s desires to provide sustainable skills for Nigerian unemployed youths at the rural communities.

A NAFDAC Director, Mr Aguluefo Ikechukwu stated this during the training and empowerment of women and youths of Ogbaru Local Government Area in Anambra State on Cosmetics Production and GSM Repairs. He explained that their ministry awarded the training programme to National Directorate of Employment (NDE) through the National Biotechnology Development Agency(NABDA) in order to give the best to the trainees under the supervision of NDE.

Mr Ikechukwu who commended NABDA, NDE and their trainers for their excellent input, called on the beneficiaries of the programme to see the training as an opportunity and laudable effort by the present government to provide them with daily living geared towards changing their narrative positively.

In his remarks, HRH Francis Nwabueze who was represented by Prince Emeka Nwabueze thanked the Agency, NDE trainers and the present government for their concern and commitment in bringing programme that will not only transform the society, but will actually add values to the lives of the unemployed youths in the rural communities.

The Royal Father while calling on the beneficiaries of the programme in the area to make good use of the training, also used the forum to appeal for more programmes of this kind from government.

Also speaking, the Rivers State Coordinator, represented by the Head of Vocational Training, Mrs Braye George reiterated the need for the trainees and participants to take proactive measures towards making the programme of good use to them. She pointed out that the Buhari-led administration is reliable and committed to creating sustainable jobs for Nigerian youths. She urged them to be focused in their skills to enable them achieve the desired goals for their living.

In their separate speeches, the Trainers on Cosmetology, Mrs Vivian Elo and her GSM Repairs counterpart, Ogene Ifeanyi called on the participants of the programmes not to misuse the opportunity, stressing that several other participants are looking forward to key into such training to better their lives.

They thanked the Resource Person, Mrs Imabong Emmanuel Alamene for her contribution to the success of the programme and applauded NAFDAC, NABDA and NDE for promoting skills, which they described as the fight against idleness and poverty in the society.

Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, one of the trainees, Mrs Chiruka Unani thanked the Federal Government and the relevant agencies, including NDE for the training,promising that they would judiciously make a better use of the Empowerment Packages to start up their own businesses.

High points of the training include production of izal, dettol, handwashing and liquid soaps. Others are hand sanitizer, vaseline, perfume and bleach.

Certificates and thirty thousand Naira cash were also presented to each of the participants as empowerment.
