NADDC, FRSC, Coscharis, others back 2022 NAJA training

All is now set for this year’s edition of the Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Training/Capacity Building programme scheduled to take place on Friday, July 29, 2022 at the Golden Tulip Hotel Essential, located on International Airport Road, Lagos.

The training programme which is the 7th edition is being supported by the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Weststar Associates, Franchise Owners of the Mercedes-Benz brand in Nigeria,  Coscharis Motors plc, Stallion Automobile Group,  Massilia Motors Limited and others geared towards the growth of the Automotive Industry in Nigeria and globally.

This year’s training/capacity programme is anchored on the theme; “Accelerating Automobile Industry Recovery Strategy In Post COVID-19 Era.”

Already, renowned experts including Prof Charles Asenime, Lagos State University, Mrs Adebisi Adelabu, General Manager of Lagos State Parking Authority (LASPA), Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist, Network and Software Engineer, Engr Yusuf Aweda Jimoh and Mr Franklyn Okotie, Auto Brand Analyst will train the participants.

While Prof Asenime will speak on “Steps For quick auto industry recovery, post Covid-19,” Engr. Jimoh will take on the participants on “Managing Reports under Remote and Hybrid Workplaces.” Also, Mr Okotie will speak on “Life of an auto journalist, beyond motoring,” just as Mrs Adelabu will expose recent developments put in place by the Lagos State government in the transport sector.

According to Mrs Julie Chi-Nwaoha, Chairperson of Nigeria Auto Journalists Association (NAJA) Training Committee, the one-day training programme is expected at enriching and expands the knowledge of the auto Journalists, not only on the topics slated but on general trends in the industry.

Mrs Chi-Nwaoha thanked stakeholders who have supported her thus far, emphasising that all arrangements are ongoing to ensure knowledge-based training.

She added that this edition is going to be very unique as it is coming at a time most stakeholders are recovering rapidly from the effects of COVID-19 which put the industry on its toes in the past few years.

She stressed that the automotive industry remains one of the critical sectors in the country and that is why NAJA is pushing to offer the best in terms of information dissemination.

It would be recalled that Ford Motors South Africa (FMCSA) in collaboration with Coscharis Motors; its local franchisee were the lead sponsors of the first and second editions held in 2016 and 2017.

Stallion Motors Nigeria Limited, with Nissan Motors South Africa, was the lead sponsor of the 2018 edition.

The NAJA training workshop is an annual training programme, organised to refresh the minds of practicing auto Journalists on the trend of auto Journalism worldwide.

Members of the Association cuts across reputable print, electronic and online media outfits across the country.
