Mushin LG chairman, Bamigboye presents N5.5bn budget for 2024

…achieves 57% of proposed budget in 2023

Mushin Local Government’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Emmanuel Olanrewaju Bamigboye, has presented the Year 2024 Budget appropriation document of N5.5 billion to the Leader of the Legislative Arm, Hon. Olamide Williams, for deliberation and approval.

During the analysis of the first three quarters’ performance (January – September 2023), Hon. Bamigboye highlighted that despite the economic challenges faced in 2023, his administration was able to achieve 57% of its proposed budget.

He expressed confidence that the ongoing capital expenditure projects would lead to an unprecedented performance by the end of the fourth quarter (October – December 2023).

The Year 2024 budget, titled “Budget of Repositioning,” aims to focus on massive infrastructural development, bridging the infrastructural gap, improving security, providing better services, and implementing environmental reforms.

Hon. Bamigboye is optimistic that the strategic interventions of the Federal Government in the economy will lead to an improvement in budget performance and the repositioning of key deliverables in 2024.

He revealed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s review of economic strategies has prompted the need to re-strategize and allocate effective expenditure on economic palliatives, including poverty reduction, medical interventions, educational support, bursary awards, infrastructural renewal, and community development across the 10 wards in Mushin Local Government.

Despite the difficulties caused by the naira redesign policy, the Bamigboye-led Administration made a positive impact in Mushin LGA. They improved roads and infrastructure, provided free healthcare and medicine, cleaned and maintained drainage systems, helped alleviate poverty and create jobs, empowered youths and women with skills, supported education, and provided security assistance. They also prioritized staff welfare and development.
