A former Supervisory Councillor in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Hon Muritala Usman Karshi explained why he has decided to aspire for the position of chairmanship in AMAC.
An active member of the All Prgressives Congress (APC), Hon Muritala Usman Karshi’s political campaign for the AMAC chairmanship was Tuesday inaugurated by Muritala Campaign Organisation.
While speaking to our reporter after the event, the aspirant said his intentions to aspire for the position was among others, to improve upon in the areas the incumbent chairman started, even as he added that he would make education availably accessible to the people of AMAC, irrespective of location.
He said: “Well, I am not the type that is good in condemning people’s works. If I am voted in, I will look at the areas the incumbent did well, and improve upon them and in the areas where there are gaps, I will bridge them.
“In the FCT,, especially in the rural areas, there are still problems. Some people don’t have access to portable water, pipe born water, rural electricity, primary healthcare and even school. Could you imagine that in FCT, some areas have no school, which is the basic. That is the area I am going to give priority.
Calling on all his supporters to remain calm and law-abiding, Hon Muritala Usman Karshi said that he didn’t believe in the politics of do – or – die.
He said that his members of his campaign organisation were drawn from indigenes and residents of the FCT, putting into consideration that AMAC is thickly populated with indigenes and non indigenes. He said that his DG of the campaign organisation was an Igala man; the deputy President’s were from Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo.
