Murder: Police return normalcy to Modakeke, to investigate killings

The Osun state Police command has returned normalcy to modakeke, and vowed to unravel the mystery shrouding the killings in the community.
The Police public Relations officer, Osun State command, Yemisi Opalola confirmed to our correspondent through the telephone on Wednesday.
Earlier, Nigerian Newdirect learnt that a palpable tension greeted Modakeke town in Osun State over the questionable circumstances leading to the death of one Mrs Funmilayo badegesin(58yrs) and his son Mr Reuben badegesin(31yrs).
The situation had led nearly turn to kiosk as youths vowed to avenge the death of the mother and his son.
A source confirmed to this that the deceased Mrs Funmilayo Badegesin and Reuben Badegesin were killed at Alapata village, between Modakeke and Ife.
The deceased’s bodies were, however, taken to the palace of Ogunsua of Modakeke, Oba Moses Oyediran in protest and the youths have vowed to pick up arms against the perpetrators.
Reacting to the incident, the Public Relations Officer, Modakeke Progressive Union, Venerable Debo Babalola, on Wednesday confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
He hinted that efforts are in place to ensure peace return to the community.
Mr Debo revealed that, “On Tuesday, around 10:00am in the morning, Mrs Funmilayo badegesin(58yrs) and his son Mr Reuben Badegesin (31yrs) were gruesomely murdered by unidentified Gunmen but the National Public Relations officer Modakeke progressive Union has persuaded the youth to allow peace reign and allow police to do work,and that had been our pleading since yesterday.”
“The community leaders in concert with the Monarch are doing all to ensure that peace reign in the community,” he said.
