MTN has paid taxes, levies worth N2.9trn to govt from inception — Toriola

As part of creating shared value in the society, the management of MTN has disclosed that the telecommunication giant has paid a whopping total of N2.9 trillions taxes and levies to the Nigerian government from inception.
The Chief Executive Officer of MTN, Mr. Karl Olutokun Toriola made the disclosure during the Nigerian Exchange Capital Markets conference held at Transcrop Hilton Abuja recently.
The CEO while presenting his speech said, “MTN has paid N2.9trillion in taxes and levies to government from inception and N3.2 trillions capital Investment.
“Creating value for shareholders with over N2.3trillions dividends paid since inception. Invested over N22.7 billions through MTN foundation and supporting over 19 million people.
Mr. Toriola stated “the company has committed over N27 billions through our Y’ello Hope initiatives to support our broad base of stakeholders.”
He said, “Over N3.9trillion is earned by vendors, over N560 billions earned by retailers, over N170 billions earned by value added service providers, over 2.4 millions active retailers, over 2.7 Local suppliers and over 2000 sales and partners agents.”
