Motorcyclist lands in court over alleged murder

A 42-year-old motorcyclist, Sunday Adeyemi was on Thursday arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over alleged murder of a yet-to-be identified lady.

The accused person committed the offence on February 13, 2021 around 7:30pm along Ikirun road in Osogbo.

The Police Prosecutor, Inspector Jacob Akintunde told the court that the accused person rode a motorcycle in a dangerous manner with registration number AAB 701 XY which caused the death of an unknown lady.

He said the accused person who had no drivers’ licence was apprehended and handed over to the police before he was charged to court.

The offence committed contravened Section 18 of the  RTL Vol. 6 CAP 115 and Section 27 of RTA CAP 548 of the Criminal Code Law of Osun state 2002 .

The accused person pleaded not guilty to the offence slammed against him.

The Defense Counsel,  Mr Tubosun Oladipupo, prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.

In his ruling, Magistrate Isola Omisade overruled the bail application and ordered that the accused person be remanded at Dugbe police station.

The case was adjourned till February 19 for consediration on bail.
