The police charged Nasiru, 18, who address was not given with reckless driving and causing death.

Nasiru, however, denied committing the offence.

The Prosecution Counsel, Sgt. Olasunkanmi Adejumola, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on Dec. 18 at Capitol Road, Oke-Koto, Agege, Lagos State.

He said that the defendant rode his Bajaj motorcycle with registration number AKM 605 W in a reckless manner on the highway and caused the death of a pedestrian, Mr Sikiru Habib.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of Sections 52 of the Lagos State Road Traffic Law and Regulations, 2018.

Magistrate O.A. Odubajo  admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Odubajo ordered that the sureties must be gainfully employed and show evidence of two years tax payment to the Lagos State Government(LASG).

The magistrate adjourned the case until Jan. 20 for mention.
