Miyatti Allah Jigawa Chapter elects new executives

The Miyatti Allah Jigawa state chapter has elected a new executive to run the affairs of the association for the next four years.

The election, which was conducted through consensus by the National chairman of the Association, Alh Baba Usman Ganjarma, took place at Three Star Hotel in Dutse yesterday.

Malam Wada Baya Gwaram emerged as the new chairman of the association, while Alh Musa Mai Jama Kafin Hausa was elected as the vice chairman, Malam Umar Auno as the secretary, and Babandi Chiroma as the treasurer.

The National chairman, Alh Baba Usman Ganjarma, charged the new executives to work together with farmers’ associations to find a lasting solution to the lingering crisis between farmers and herders in the state and the country at large. “If farmers and herders are united, it is like the unity of the nation,” he said.

Ganjarma also advised the Fulani youth to emulate the old culture of their forefathers by wearing traditional dresses and avoiding modern hairstyles that may identify them as criminals. He urged parents to give their children proper home training and education to inculcate moral discipline and avoid drug abuse.

The National chairman attributed the genesis of the herder-farmer crisis to a lack of knowledge on the difference between forest reserves and grazing land. “Grazing reserved is meant for animal rearing, while forest reserved is kept for a purpose by the government in case of any eventuality,” he explained.

He emphasized the importance of education, stating that it is only through education that their target objectives can be achieved. “Lack of education forces many youth to join the wagon of drug abuse, which is currently affecting the society,” he added.
