The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Wale Edun, has praised the African Development Bank (AfDB) for its instrumental role in advancing Nigeria’s economic recovery.

This commendation follows a high-level meeting with an AfDB delegation led by Dr Abdul Kamara, Director General of the Nigeria Country Department, who visited to strengthen collaboration on Nigeria’s economic growth and development priorities.

This was stated in a release signed by Mohammed Manga, Director of Information and Public Relations, on Wednesday.

Dr Kamara announced the launch of a new Country Strategy Paper and reaffirmed the AfDB’s dedication to transformative initiatives, including the second phase of the National Agricultural Growth Scheme (NAGS) and the Special Agro-Industrial Processing Zones (SAPZ).

The AfDB also reiterated its support for youth entrepreneurship through schemes such as the Youth Enterprise Investment Fund.

Edun acknowledged the AfDB’s contributions, underlining the Bank’s vital role in Nigeria’s economic recovery through agriculture, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.

The Minister noted that the AfDB’s collaboration with Nigeria remains crucial in fostering economic expansion, particularly in key sectors such as agriculture, infrastructure, and youth development.

As Nigeria continues its journey towards economic renewal, the AfDB’s unwavering support underscores the significance of cooperation and strategic alliances. With the Bank’s backing, Nigeria is well-positioned to harness its full potential, achieve sustainable growth, and enhance the well-being of its citizens.
