FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello has charged incoming FCT Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps, (FRSC), Mr Samuel Ogar Ochi, to ensure the enforcement of all traffic regulation on FCT roads. He also asked the commander to embark on enlightenment and advocacy in the discharge of his duties. Bello stated this while he received Ochi in his office on Tuesday.

The minister said, “In the discharge of your duties, your keyword should be enforcement. After this, you can go to the second one which is enlightenment and advocacy because so many people on the streets are driving vehicles without knowledge of traffic regulations”.

Bello also urged the new commander to ensure the commitment of his officers to their jobs and pledge  the support of the FCT Administration to the FRSC in the discharge of its duties.

The new sector Clcommander in his resppnse pledged to work hard to meet the challenges of ensuring road safety in the FCT adding that his familiarity with the nation’s capital will help him greatly in his new assignment.

He  commended the FCT Minister for the steps taken to improve traffic management in the Territory inclusive of restrictions placed on the operations of tricycles and commercial motorcycles as well as the construction of roads
