Mercy of God saved me from idolatry — Cleric

The program opened with prayers by Evangelist Adisa and the lesson of the day by Lady Makinde Oluwaseun.

The General Overseer of Rest in Christ Gospel Ministry, Prophet Dr. A.J. Wasinuola, a.k.a Baba Ifokanbale, has said he obtained mercy from God to be saved from idol worshipping.

The cleric who adored God for the goodwill at the 2nd year anniversary of the Church said it was after he obtained mercy from being a traditional worshipper that God called him to serve him.

In his narration, following the call, he said the land he bought to build a house for his idols was converted to build a church when he received the call of God.

According to him, the church’s gathering which initially started in a private residence when it was established April 2020, now has a new site with branches in various places including Ogun and Lagos in Nigeria and Togo.

“We praised the name of God no evidence of disappointment found in the record to the glory of God,” he said.

A cleric, Pastor Soyombo Sunday in his sermon, drawing from the book of Philippians 4 vs 1, urged every member of the church to stand firm in Jesus Christ, mentioning those who stand firm in Jesus Christ are those recognised by God.

He observed many who claim to be Christians are not born again, saying many were called but few chosen.

He urged Christians to be given to work of evangelism, cautioning them on gossip and ungodly acts.

He beseeched every member of the church to stand firm in God as the anniversary theme “stand firm” stated.
