Masari urges youths to be productive
The Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina state has urged the youth to be productive to enable them sustain their lives.
Masari made this assertion while interacting with journalists on his foundation, ‘Aminu Bello Masari Youth Foundation’ in Katsina on Tuesday.
“The intention of the foundation is to teach the youth how to catch fish. This will make them learn a skill they will depend on.”
The Governor said the foundation has awarded scholarship to indigent students from within and outside the state to pursue their dream profession.
Similarly, he added that, the foundation has conducted several medical outreach to alleviate their various health challenges across the state.
He disclosed that the foundation is also partnering some non-governmental organizations and tertiary institutions from within and outside the state in training persons with special needs.
“I wish to call on our Islamic preachers to admonish persons with special needs to embrace skills, as this is better than going around begging,” he added.
Masari however asserted that the foundation has no political undertone, but a means of giving back to the society.
