Market capitalisation increases to N320bn

Trading on Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) closed marginally on a positive note for the two days market opened for this week, All shares index appreciated by  592.85 basis points.

Meanwhile, the overall market capitalisation value increased higher to N320 billion to close trade at N25.952 trillion.

The upturn was impacted by gains recorded in medium and large capitalised stocks amongst which are JAPAULGOLD, GUINNESS NIGERIA, MEYER and others.

Similarly, All Share Index on Wednesday increased higher by 592.85 basis points or 1.25 per cent to 48,138.71 basis points from 47,545.86 basis points it closed trade on Tuesday.

The total volume traded declined by 4.3 per cent to 349,560,578 million units, valued at N7.106 billion and exchange in 5,790 deals.

On the price gainers table, JAPAULGOLD and ETERNA gained 10 per cent  increased to close trade at N0.30 and N5.50 per share respectively.

GUINNESS NIGERIA recorded as the third best gainer which rose by 9.96 per cent to close trade at N82.25 per share, MEYER grew by 0.17 kobo representing 9.60 per cent to close trade at N1.93 per share and WAPIC INSURANCE PLC went up by 9.52 per cent or 0.04 kobo increased to close trade at N0.46 per share.

On the decliners chart, UNIONDICON recorded as the most loser yesterday which depreciated by 9.60 per cent to close trade at N8.95 per share, followed by CWG which dropped by 0.09 kobo or 9.28 per cent to close trade at N0.88 per share.

JOHNHOLT declined by 8.97 per cent or 0.07 kobo to close at N0.71 per share, while REGALINS dipped by 0.03 kobo to close trade at N0.32 per share, and SUNU ASSURANCE went down by 8.33 per cent to close trade at N0.33 per share.

Transaction in the share of UNIVINSURE topped the activity chart which traded 73.046 million shares valued at N14.609 million, while ZENITH BANK transacted 23.653 million shares worth N571.508 million.

FIDELITY BANK traded 20.727 million shares worth N79.964 million, Followed by UNITED BANK of AFRICA which transacted 20.061 million shares valued at N160.502 million. MUTUAL BENEFIT ASSURANCE traded 16.374 million shares valued at N3.948 million.
