Man. Utd won’t ‘burn money’ to replace Ronaldo – Ten Hag
Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag, has said the club will not “burn money” in their search for a new striker.
The Red Devils are looking to add a new forward to the squad after Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract was ripped up in November.
United have the lowest strike rate among the top six clubs, with only 24 goals from 16 matches so far this season.
With only 12 goals from seven games played at Old Trafford, no team in the top 10 has scored fewer times at home than United.
Ten Hag has said he is concerned about the lack of goals in his team, with Marcus Rashford the top scorer with six Premier League goals.
“I think we have a good team when all the players are available, but with many games coming up, I think there is a need [for a new striker].
“But you need one who can have an impact, otherwise you are just burning money and you don’t strengthen the squad. It doesn’t help you,” Ten Hag said.
