Man stabbed in Ikotun over wife’s disappearance

A man identified as Mr. Akinwumi Taoeed Abiodun has been reportedly stabbed by some suspected thugs during a confrontation in the Ikotun area of Lagos State on Wednesday, March 31 2025.

Eyewitnesses said the thugs attacked him because he refused to disclose the whereabouts of his wife, Mrs. Akinwumi Halimat Shadia. The attackers were allegedly sent by his wife’s family members.

It was gathered that Mr. Akinwumi, who had been living in fear, had suffered several attacks from both his family members and his in-laws.

The issue, sources say, is linked to female circumcision, which led to the loss of his two daughters in 2010 and 2023. Since December 2023, he had not been aware of the whereabouts of his wife and remaining children.
