Mr. Christopher Njoku, an indigene of Ogada Atta in the Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, has raised concerns over threats to his brother, Mr. Njoku Ifeanyi Gabriel, and the tragic events that have plagued their family.
Speaking to reporters, Christopher revealed that his brother has faced serious threats after refusing to join the activities of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in their local government area. He clarified that Ifeanyi was never a member of the group and had resisted pressure to join their cause.
According to Christopher, the situation escalated when their brother sought help from members of the Catholic Church, who facilitated his escape from Nigeria to Italy. Unfortunately, this defiance reportedly led to devastating consequences. Christopher disclosed that their parents and other relatives were killed, allegedly as a result of the threats connected to Ifeanyi’s refusal to align with IPOB.
Christopher is now appealing to security agencies to intervene, as he fears for his own life and the safety of remaining family members. He called on the authorities to provide protection and bring those responsible for these acts of violence to justice.
The tragic case highlights the need for swift action to address security challenges in the region.
