Man killed by suspected cultists in Osun

There was palpable tension in Oke-Ijetu community in Osogbo as suspected cultists attacked and killed a man identified as Shogo on Thursday morning.

It was gathered that the deceased who was alleged to be a cultist was macheted before his head was smashed with stone around 10:50 am on Thursday.

Shogo, a resident of Surulere street, Oke-Ijetu area was said to have been chased from a barbing salon owned by his friend situated at the same street and was killed down the lane.

One of the eyewitnesses, Agba Abdulkareem said the man “was chased from a barbing salon. He was macheted and they later smashed his head with stone when the machete could not penetrate his body.”

Another resident said the Shogo and the owner of the shop were living together and also run the salon shop together.

Osun State Police Command spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola confirmed the incident.

She said the police has started investigating the killing, stating that the culprits would be arrested.
