Man in court for stealing tyres worth N 90, 000

A 23-year-old man, Isaiah Daniel, on Tuesday appeared before a Dei-Dei Grade l Area Court, FCT for allegedly stealing two High Lander vehicle tyres valued  N 90,000 from a car stand.

Daniel who resides at N0. 36 and 38 road, off third avenue, Gwaripa , FCT, is standing trial on a three-count criminal breach of trust, conspiracy and theft.

The prosecution counsel, Mr Chinedu Ogada told the court that the matter was reported at the FCT Divisional Police Headquaters, Byazhin, by  Chris Elobisi of Federal Housing, Lugbe.

Ogada alleged that the defendant brought Mr Felix to the complainant to employ him as a security guard and when he started work, he stole the tyres.

He further said that Felix abandoned the car stand and ran away as soon as he received his first salary.

The counsel said  that all efforts to apprehend him proved abortive.

He  said that the offences contravened sections 97and 288 of the Penal Code Law.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Judge, Malam Saminu Suleiman, granted him bail in the sum of N100, 000 with a surety in like sum.

He adjourned the case until June 6, for trial.
