Man arraigned for allegedly killing father in Kwara

The Nigeria Police Force has arraigned a 23-year-old man, Saidi Musa, before a Kwara State Magistrates Court in Ilorin for allegedly killing his father, Chief Musa, the Elemosho of Shareland in Ifelodun Local Government Area of the State.

Saidi is standing trial for culpable homicide before the court for allegedly macheting his father to death.

He was alleged to have attacked his father for raining curses on him.

The police prosecutor, Abdullah Sanni, told the court that the matter is not ordinarily bailable since it is culpable homicide, urging the court to consider the motion ex-parte attached to the Police First Information Report and order that the defendant should be remanded in the correctional facility.

In his short ruling, the presiding Chief Magistrate, Alhaji Mohammed Dasuki, directed that Saidi be remanded and then adjourned the matter to 9th January, 2024 for mention.
