Man, 45, charged with alleged assault of teenager

One Aramide Tito, a 45-year-old man, was charged in a Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court on Monday. He faces allegations of starving and assaulting his 11-year-old stepson.

The defendant, whose address was not provided, faces charges of indecent dealing, assault, and attempted murder.

He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

 The defendant claimed that this offence violated the provisions outlined in Sections 135, 245, and 230 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. A.J. Aina, granted bail to the defendant in the amount of N100,000, requiring two sureties who must each provide a similar sum. Each surety must also be gainfully employed.

The case was adjourned until September 25 for further hearing.
