Man, 44, docked for alleged abduction of baby in Ogun

A 44-year-old man, Adetoro David, was on Monday brought before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun over the abduction of a 2-year-old baby.

David whose address was not given at the time of filing this report, is facing two count charge bordering on abduction and conspiracy.

The Prosecutor, Inspector A.O Adebayo told the court that the defendant and others still at large, committed the offenses at 6.00 a.m at Oju-ore area, Ota

Adebayo alleged that the defendant and his accomplices conspired to abduct a 2year-old baby, Marvelous Oluwole, without the consent of the parents, Mr. and Mrs. Yemi Oluwole.

She said that offenses contravened Sections 28, 371(1) and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.

The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Chief Magistrate, Mr. O.L Oke granted bail to the defendant in granted bail to the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum.

Oke ordered that sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with the evidence of tax payment to the Ogun Government.

The case was adjourned until November 19, 2020, for further hearing
