Man, 31, sentenced to one-year imprisonment for church burglary, theft of N350,000 worth of items

A 31-year-old man, Adeseun Samuel, has been sentenced to one year imprisonment by an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State. Samuel was found guilty of breaking into a church and stealing a keyboard and other items worth N350,000.
The Magistrate, Mr O. O. Okiki, delivered the ruling, sentencing Samuel to one year imprisonment with no possibility of a fine. The convict had pleaded guilty to charges of burglary and theft.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offences on Oct. 9 at about 11.00 a.m. at No.64, Olamide Street, Eleidi area, Ota.
Adaraloye said the convict broke into The Redeemed Christian Church of God (Dominion Sanctuary) and stole a key board, two mixers and other valuable items worth N350,000.
He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9) and 411 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun, 2006.
