Man, 30 raises alarm over deadly attack, death threat to brother, wife

A 30-year old auto mechanic, Lawrence Osho has raised  alarm over deadly attack and constant death threat to his brother, Mr Olujimi Osho and his wife, Taiwo by some alleged cultists and political thugs with sympathy for Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos.

Lawrence Osho made this disclosure while speaking over the recent attack on the residence of the embattled couple which he said they had since abandoned all in a bid to get their lives and that of their children secured.

He said during the recent attack on their residence, located at Aguda, Surulere, Lagos, the hoodlums as it was reported came around midnight and ransacked their house, apparently looking for his brother after which they fired several shots into the air and then left.

Lawrence said, “Actually, my brother and his wife are supporters of the ruling party, the All Progressives Congress (APC). My brother is well known in their neighbourhood, Aguda, Surulere, Lagos, a stronghold of the opposition party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of his preference for the APC.

“He was a strong supporter of Buhari for president in 2015 and equally supported the party to win its gubernatorial election in Lagos State in 2019 and since then he had been receiving several threats from these alleged political thugs/ cultists.”

Lawrence explained further that, “As a way of saying that they actually meant business and not joking with the death threats they had sent to my brother in the past, sometime in August of 2020, my brother was attacked around 7p.m. in the night while seeing off his friends who came visiting.”

He revealed further that, “My brother was barely lucky to have escaped with his life. He was punched heavily and pushed into a ditch, however, the shout of his wife who was with him during the attack attracted some passersby who came around and assist to take my brother to the hospital for treatment.”

The auto mechanic said though the matter was reported to the police, nothing concrete was done other than the promise that they would hunt for the alleged criminals.

He stated further that, “Few days after the attack, series of handwritten notes were posted on my brother’s car parked outside their house threatening to deal with him and his family. This prompted them to be moving from one place to the other for their safety. They also changed their children’s school to avoid any attack on them and for sometime, they did not receive any threat message from the gang and thought that their ordeal was over.”

Lawrence said, surprisingly, in September 2020 while returning home in the evening, “My brother’s wife was attacked at the entrance of their house by some political thugs who came looking for her husband that was not at home at the time.”

He said the men appeared from nowhere and wanted to abduct her but she shouted and struggled with them during when she was seriously beaten and later left to wriggle in pains after her shout had attracted some passersby.

Lawrence disclosed that, “Due to this attack, my brother’s wife has gone through two or more surgeries at different hospitals.”

He said, “Early this year, my brother still told me of another note posted on his car threatening to deal ruthlessly with him by gang raping his wife and two daughters in his presence and that of his little son. It is from that time that we have not known the whereabout of my brother and his family because he was strongly advised to run for his dear life and that of his family.”

Lawrence said, it was therefore disturbing when he got the news of the last week attack on his brother’s residence at Aguda, Surulere, Lagos which he had abandoned now for months.

He said, “This recent attack really convinced me that except these hoodlums get rid of my brother and his family, they would not be pacified,” urging the security agencies to help bring the criminals to book.
