Man, 25, docked over alleged assault on 2 in Ogun
The Police on Monday, arraigned Tesi Segun, 25 before an Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun, for allegedly hitting two persons with stick.
The police charged Segun, whose address was not provided with assault and conspiracy.
The Police Prosecutor, Insp. E.O. Adaraloye, told the court that the defendant and others at large, committed the offences on Jan. 1, at about 11.02 a.m along Abeokuta-Lagos expressway.
Adaraloye said the defendant and his accomplices, allegedly conspired to assault the complainants, Uti Lewis and Uti Chukwuma, by hitting them with stick and given them blows all over their bodies.
He said that the offences contravened Sections 351 and 516 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
The defendant however pleaded not guilty to the charge.
The Magistrate, Mrs. A.O.Adeyemi, admitted the defendant to N50, 000 bail with one surety in like sum.
Adeyemi ordered that the surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment to Ogun Government.
The case was adjourned until Jan. 13 for further hearing.
