Makinde urges police cadets to embrace professional responsibilities
Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has called on police cadets from the state attending the Regular Course 7 of the Nigeria Police Force, Kano, to fully embrace their professional responsibilities without hesitation.
Makinde made this statement on Wednesday when he received the 39 Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) from the course in Ibadan.
The officers were in Oyo State for a mandatory one-month internship.
In his address, Makinde stressed the importance of integrity, discipline, and professionalism in their duties, urging the cadets to be agents of positive change wherever they serve. He called on them to be dedicated to their chosen career and to distinguish themselves in service to the nation.
“I urge you all to uphold the values of justice and fairness, especially in a time when public confidence in law enforcement is crucial,” Makinde stated.
Oyo State’s Commissioner of Police (CP), Mr Johnson Adenola, noted that the number of cadets in Regular Course 7 was the highest in the state’s history. He also expressed appreciation for the governor’s support and reiterated the command’s commitment to ensuring adequate security for all citizens.
Speaking on behalf of the Oyo State Regular Course 7 Cadet contingent, ASP Theophilus Adeniran pledged that he and his colleagues would continue to make the state proud.
